What is TEAM COACHING?

Team Coaching moves beyond traditional team development, stretching teams and their membership to a new understanding of the meaning of team.

The roadSIGNS Coach focuses on ‘igniting team spirit’, creating a team environment which fosters stronger relationships, enhanced communication and understanding, and most importantly, clarity among team members as to the work and activity of the team.

The goal of team coaching is to provide team members with the tools to respond effectively and efficiently to the challenges of the modern workplace.

The roadSIGNS Coaching Model focuses on a series of four shifts designed to accomplish this goal

The Shifts:

From ME to WE

This shift begins with self knowledge, understanding your personality preferences and how you contribute to the team. The second step allows each individual to experience their teammates through their respective preferences. The focus is to honor and respect the differences and leverage these differences into solid teamwork

From Discussion to Dialogue

Three core concepts lie in this shift: listening, inquiry and inclusion. The goal is to shift the team to a higher form of communication, one which will harness team creativity and collaboration.  Dialogue provides a forum which encourages the contribution of individual team members and engages their gifts, talents and strengths

From Weaknesses to Strengths

Using a tool called Strengths Finder 2.0, this aspect of team coaching allows each team member, and the team, to identify their personal strengths and unique capacities. Rather than focusing on areas for development based on weaknesses, the team engages their strengths to leverage the power of the team.

From History to New Story

New story offers a new strategy for change and transition within teams and organizations. While the team history is acknowledged, it is viewed as the foundation. Team success lies in the ability to clarify what they want to build for the future, creating the new story that supports this future and becoming the story. This is a simple and powerful strategy for moving teams forward.
